I don&#8217;t know about you but I can&#8217;t stomach the canned  ravioli and my belly complains if I try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a long time our family almost never ate ravioli. Not because we didn&#8217;t like them, but because it was a labor intensive meal. Making ravioli from scratch is not an easy task. The only other option was the canned variety and that was gross! So we didn&#8217;t eat ravioli for many years except for the rare occasions when we would buy some from the local italian bakery (because they also made fresh pasta in addition to the baked goods). It wasn&#8217;t canned it was frozen and it looked similar to what hand-made ravioli looks like, so she decided to give it a go. She&#8217;s a very adventurous Italian Grandma! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The product she found was at Costco. It was an instant hit! After that, this ravioli dish was added into the family&#8217;s meal rotation. Another delicious, quick and easy meal. The picture at the top of this blog post looks like sauce covered with cheese. I love tomato sauce so I poured it on thick. My fault. And I also like grated Pecorino Romano cheese. The result is that you can&#8217;t really see any ravioli in that picture. Why? Because you just make the basic tomato sauce following the directions for that recipe, which is super simple! You can find the Basic Tomato Sauce Recipe in this post: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.staging.cookwaig.com\/tomato-sauce-a-basic-recipe\/\">Tomato Sauce &#8211; A Basic Recipe<\/a> And for the ravioli, just follow the package instructions. They cook in about 5 minutes. And you&#8217;re done! As I said earlier, ravioli with tomato sauce, tastes like homemade because it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just be careful removing the ravioli from the water. You must not drain them into a colander like you would other pasta because they are likely to break apart and you will have a mess. Instead gently remove them individually from the pot. Both at your local big box grocer and online.
